Congratulations go out to Denis Butko, based in the Bond TM Amsterdam office, who recently passed his Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) course and was the first Level 1 IT engineer to be promoted to Level 2 within the company.

Denis joined Bond TM in 2011 after graduating with an MSc in optoelectronic devices and systems followed by 10 years as a system and network administrator and system engineer.

His CCNA course has given him a better working knowledge of technical yacht management and yacht IT support, as well as IT-based yacht security systems to protect sensitive data from unauthorised users.

“My CCNA qualification has extended my understanding of networks that will be very valuable to working with superyacht IT systems. The course covers switches, routers, wireless access points, wireless controllers, firewalls and 3G/4G devices. These are all very important areas for the way an owner or guest will be provided with internet access on the superyacht, so they are a huge priority for the ETO or engineers operating them. My CCNA training will help with the superyacht IT support that keeps the owner online while onboard,” explains Butko.
